We have developed an untargeted lipidomics analysis based on our existing LC-MS methods that encompasses the most important lipid classes and lipophilic phytochemicals. Although the data is semi-quantitative, we are also able to separately quantify specific lipids on request. The lipid classes covered by this analysis include (but are not limited to) glycerophospholipids, di- and triglycerides, medium- and long-chain fatty acids and acylcarnitines, tocols, carotenoids, and various fatty acyl esters.
Although our current reversed-phase metabolomics method, included in our typical service, already separates and detects many lipid classes, the new method is purely optimized for lipids and thus can offer a wider image of the non-polar compounds in foods, biofluids, cells, and even more exotic biological samples.
